December numbers:

Extra income: $660

Extra towards Debt: $600

Savings: $375

Invested: $350

I've been getting asked why I'm selling on Mercari since I already work full-time and have a coaching business…my response…why not?!?

Not everyone has the desire to have a side gig. I'm just sharing to show what is possible. I started Mercari just for fun in November to see what I could sell. In December, I ended up selling $630 worth of clothes, shoes and Christmas items I didn't use!

Buying second hand from someone on Mercari or Poshmark is helping make a difference in their life. You may be helping pay a bill or put food on the table.

You can grab some amazing things for sale at Thrift stores or apps like Mercari. I mean, this is embarrassing, but I sold some clothes and shoes with tags, never worn. Second-hand doesn't mean second best. Also, if you struggle with decluttering and getting rid of clothes, hang all your clothes in your closet with the hanger backward. When you use a piece of clothing hang it the right way. At the end of the year, get rid of everything that still has the hanger backward...you haven't worn it in a year!

Does this mean I'll never buy anything new from a store, no. It means I'm going to be more conscious of what I have, what I'm actually wearing, and what I need.

On another note, did you know as a society we purchase 400% more clothing today than we did 20 years ago?? 85% of clothing ends up in Landfills. Fast fashion is one of the most toxic industries in the world. Just think of the impact we can have on our environment as well as our pockets.
